Ricote Valley Activities

SenderismoWalking Routes
In Ricote valley there are numerous marked food paths for those who like stroll or go for a good walk.
Take a walk for Blanca streets, stroll around the orchards of palms next to the river or between high cliffs. Visit the waterwheels route, enjoy the serenity of village life…

Bike Routes
Due to the short distance between the villages of the valley –the biggest, between Blanca and Archena is just 13 km- and the almost non-existent traffic, it is a nice experience cycling around.

If you are looking for big challenges, La Navela Mountains are a very good option.

For this reason, in our cottages we offer you inexpensive rental bikes.

Paseos en bicicletaCar rides
All villages are joined by a road which runs parallel to the river through beautiful landscapes.
Having a car will allow you to visit the highest view points at the valley (The White Virgin, The Gold Virgin and “Alto Bayna”).

Horse riding
In Blanca there is an equestrian school that gives you the opportunity to enjoy horseback riding on its outskirts.

Climbing
In Ricote Mountains, there are four sectors: The Rock, The Viper,
“Saltador de Marín” and Flat Stone, with over 100 fully equipped routes.

Activities by the river

Descending the river by canoe or raft is the best way to experience the natural beauty of the valley. Anyone over 10 years can participate.

Canoeing Courses
There is a course that fits your desire and paddling ability.

Fishing
River fishing lovers will delight catching catfishes and trouts.

Cultural Activities and Sports

Throughout the year, a series of cultural activities and sportive events are planned by Blanca Town Hall. These events are shown on Victoria Theatre, Villa de Blanca Showroom, Light and Water Interpretation Center, House of Culture and Municipal Pool.

Main Festivities And Celebrations
January, the sixth: Farewell souls -a group of people singing Christmas Carols asking for money-.
Celebrating the Spring:
The first friday after Good Friday we celebrate Festivities of San Roque.
August festivities in honour of San Roque. Spectacular running of the bulls similar to "San Fermines" in Pamplona.This festivities are 100 hundred years old.

Other activities

The closeness and the good communication by road with the city of Murcia makes this location the perfect place to visit and enjoy its cultural and leisure activities.
